Upon learning that the only way we could see Lightning Bolt play in the the LA area for the first time in 2 years, even though they have no shows scheduled Friday and Saturday, is to somehow acquire a $300 3 day pass to Coachella because:
"OK, here is the sad story with LA. We love LA, wanted to play LA, but alas, because we are playing Coachella we are not allowed to play LA or San Diego at any time within a month around the fest. Normally, as we did with Pitchfork in Chicago, we would just play a secret show, but we have been warned that Coachella closely monitors this stuff and would hit us with a serious fine if we try anything."Sean D. had this to say today:
"Well, the obvious conclusion to draw from this is fuck Coachella in the eye hole."
Just last year I saw Pavement play in Pomona the day before Coachella started, and they were one of the top billed bands.
Ms Lauryn Hill is playing Coachella this weekend and playing the El Rey Theatre next Wednesday.

Total Bullshit - Thank god that is not the rule for bonnaroo because in the week before and week after it NC is flooded with great shows from bands. I have 4 shows to go to that week!
