Credit Where Credit Is Due

I am a Pittsburgh Steelers fan so I am excited about their appearance in the Superbowl this Sunday but I can't say that I was expecting it this season given the difficulty of their schedule. My good friend Bill Ross is a devoted Cincinnati Bengals fan and we we have been heated rivals when it comes to football since we met. Despite his hatred for the Steelers he has been telling me since October that the Steelers were going to the Superbowl. I just wanted to give him credit for this prediction even though is goes against his better judgement. Go Steelers!

Album Recommendation

With the exception of Ghostface Killah, I had been losing my faith in hip hop. Crunk and the auto tune were making rap unbearable for me. Last year I got a little excited with new albums released by Q-Tip and Lil Wayne. I recently came across this mixtape by DC's WALE (pronounce wah-lay) and I really like it. It pays homage to the go-go of Chuck Brown and has a Seinfeld theme. The mixtape was released for free on the internet. Download it here.

Bathroom Art

I often work at a fairly well known fashion company's main office and when visiting the restroom I am delighted by artwork, the likes of which I have not seen since high school. Oh the wonderful world of fashion.

Kickball

The weather has been pretty great in LA the past week so Emos organized a kickball game and 15 - 20 people showed up. We had a great time reliving our childhood in the warm California sun. We popped a ball but luckily had a spare.

R.I.P. INDIE 103.1

2003 - 2009

I don't listen to the radio much but when I did I would listen to Indie 103.1. They have gone off the air and will only be available online. No more driving around town listening to Jonesy's Jukebox.

Hey Man, Nice Shot #11

I got one of those forwarded emails from my cousin Karen with these clever photos of the sun and moon. The email said the photographer was unknown.

Hey Man, Nice Shot #10

MATT STUART

Elliot Erwitt is one of my favorite photographers because of his sense of humor and his ability to capture amazingly candid shots of everyday life. It is almost like he is invisible wandering around with a camera. Matt Stuart possesses these skills of Erwitt's. Stuart is a London based photographer with an amazing eye to find humor in everyday street life. See his images here.

Oranges

I borrowed the fruit picker from the Isabel house to pick oranges from the tree right outside my front door. This is what I picked today and there are many more.
