Meet WHISPERING PINES
This year my roommate Joe founded his band Whispering Pines. They play country rock influenced by The Band, Allman Brothers, and Neil Young. They started playing shows this summer so look out for them at clubs around LA. Visit their myspace page here.
Here they are playing "Broken Spoke" at Mr. T's Bowl last Friday night.

R.I.P. Hunter Holland
HUNTER HOLLAND 1972-2008
I grew up with Hunter and was deeply saddened to hear that he passed away Wednesday due to heart failure at the young age of 36. We were in Scouts and high school band together. I was happy to hear that he kept his passion for music and his band had just been signed to a 4 record contract. Unfortunately his life ended before their first album was released. See his band's Myspace page here.

Last Night At The Echoplex
POLVO
This is my favorite band to ever call North Carolina home and they are back after 10 years. I saw them numerous times in the 90's and this was my first time seeing them outside of the Raleigh/Chapel Hill area. They have a new drummer, a little heavier sound, and they took some liberties with new versions of old songs but it was great to see them again. See them perform "Bombs That Fall From Your Eyes" in the video below.
