Top 25 Albums 2008: 21-25
It is the end of the year and time to look back on the music of 2008. This is my list of the 25 albums released in 2008 that made an impression on me. This week i will reveal 5 albums a day counting down to number 1. Each set of 5 will include a mix of sample songs from the albums you can download. This first mix includes a bonus song by Little Joy which probably should have made the top 25.

Yes!
Our worst President ever gets 2 shoes thrown at him during a press conference in Iraq. Apparently this is a big insult in Iraqi culture. Isn't there something more insulting than throwing a shoe? Bush deserves more.

Tilt-Shift Time-Lapse
Here is a cool video by Keith Loutit. He uses a tilt-shift lens and time-lapse photography to put a new perspective on a monster truck show.

Killed Palm Trees
Driving back from Phoenix, AZ yesterday I stopped in Desert Center, CA to check out several small groves of palm trees that appear to have been slaughtered. It was like some sort of palm tree crime scene or an epic palm tree battle had just taken place and this was the aftermath. There were circles of dead and decapitated palms which seemed like palm tree Stonehenges. It was beautiful.

Saturday Night At The Hollywood Palladium
OF MONTREAL
Another great show from Of Montreal. Even more theatrical than ever. More actors/performers than members of the band. Constant costume changes. Crazy antics including a lynching, a barroom brawl, and dancing Buddhas. The oddest thing to me was their decision to close the show with covers of Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out" and Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirt". That caught me off guard.
